What brand do you recommend where the same battery is used, say for a blower, trimmer, edger.....

And also, if you know the national chain retailer (Lowe's, Home Depot).

    Thanks in advance.

+1 on this. Ego makes pretty good stuff.

I've been happy with my Kobalt stuff. Same 40V for blower, trimmer and edger and the 80V mower.
I might swap to the 80V blower, but I haven't really had a good enough reason to yet.

+2....I used some of their stuff a homeowner had, I was very impressed. Their weedeater has the easiest winding I've ever used.

^ exactly on the string trimmer. After coming from a janky old 2-stroke trimmer that would start 20% of the time going electric was the answer. I don't know I'd be using electric stuff for commercial applications, but for the typical home its great.

Got a 60v Snapper blower and whacker and they're a few years old now and I have zero complaints.

My Makita stuff has worked well for me. Trimmer, blower, chainsaw. Same batteries and charger as all of my power tools.

I will say that if I was going to go cordless, I would probably look at Stihl. There stuff is hard to beat.

My Ego blower is probably my most-used tool I own. Great for blowing out the garage, race trailer, getting a bonfire going, and the normal yard uses.
I have the blower, string trimmer, edger, and chainsaw. All use the same two batteries for years now.

Only cordless yard tool I have is a Ryobi 18V string trimmer I bought back when I was skeptical about battery yard tools. It's been great, can do my yard 2-3 times on a charge. I got an adapter to run 20V DeWalt 20V batteries when needed.

Neighbors all seem to be slowly getting Stihl or Echo, seem like top tier stuff.

I started switching over to Ryobi 40V about 10 years ago. Needed a new hedge trimmer so started there and have just kept going. Need a small blower for that stuff and I think I'll be done. Batteries are a little heavy but I don't have to stop and mix up a new batch of premix in the middle of the job. Two batteries and I have never run out of power mid-job.

Stihl. Their electric side is commercial grade stuff. It costs like it is too, but I have yet to be disappointed. So far just a weed Wacker and small chainsaw.

Go to Stihldealers.com to find your local. Mine was Ace Hardware.

I have Ryobi and have been pleased - only issue I've had is the chargers failing. I've been through 3, but warranty was extremely easy and very fast so can't complain too much. I'm just a home owner, but I have a blower, hedge trimmer, weed eater/edger, drain auger, handheld compressor, sawzall, impact driver, drill, jig saw, lights, 5.5" circular saw, reciprocating tool, and I'm sure others I'm forgetting LOL

Keep an eye on homedepot during ryobi days and you can get some really really good package deals.

I've got 4 chargers and 6 batteries. I'm never out of juice :D

Its hard to beat for a homeowner when deals like this pop up

I have a Milwaukee m18 blower and weed whacker at work and both work really well. Also.their pole chainsaw and chainsaw regular. Very impressed with all of them and that battery works in damn near 100 other tools.

Ryobi warranty has turned to shit. Good luck getting anything fixed. Every one of tools I have are now breaking. Made it 2 1/2 years. Technically still under warranty but no way to get coverage. Nice 404 webpage for warranty support. Fuck Ryobi

I have never been less enthused about spending +$350 on a cordless tool as I was when I bought my 16" 60v Dewalt chainsaw. I'm oddly happy post purchase though. For lightweight to medium cutting for clean up around the property it is hard to beat just grabbing a battery and going. No worry about old gas, hard starting, haven't been used in months gas gear. You still need a real tool for any serious work and that's going to be gas powered. It can't come close to the cutting performance of the 261c Stihl I borrowed from a neighbor.

I bought a Makita straight shaft trimmer and blower combo last year. Wish I would have bought one years ago. I'm pretty invested in Makita stuff already though, so that's why I went that route. I have a bunch of stihl gas stuff, but the electric trimmer is awesome for quickly trimming up around the house. I use that blower WAY more than I thought I would too. A chainsaw is next on my list.
