Yesterday, or maybe the day before, I was watching the news on a CBS station when they were doing a story on the Congressional hearings about gun control. Our favorite gun expert (Diane Feinstein) was speaking about how no one needed to have an assault weapon. At the same time she was speaking there was a video running showing a fully automatic M16 rifle firing for several seconds with no stopping. I'm not sure that the video was a feed from CBS or the local station. Either way it was infuriating to see such distortion of facts. Those lying bastards will go to any lengths to try to gain public support.

Not to mention the fact that need is nowhere in the Second Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting. It's about protecting us from our government. If the police, FEMA and DHS have it then we need to be able to have it. Sure with some controls. I don't think fully automatic weapons need to be had without some restrictions like we currently have. The cops aren't running around with fully autos except for certain groups such as SWAT.

I totally believe that's what the founding fathers intended. We don't need what the military has but what the police and civilian authorities have we do need access to.

I don't currently need an AR-15 but those feelings may change in the future. Though I think I will be going for a sniper type platforms for the revolution. :D

Short of heavy machine guns, there isn't really any use for full auto in a rifle platform anyway.

Democrats in Congress should be all over this, demanding justice for Jeffrey Barton.
He followed the Vice President's advice to the letter, and if advice from a 911 dispatcher is tantamount to a legal command, how much more so must advice from the VP be?

The Biden thing is just too funny. Glaring example (again) of his abject idiocy.

As for "needs".....it's not called The Bill of Needs......

Let's hope it's not called the "Bill of Wants" either.

As to the shotgun vs whatever, I noticed that a full stock firearm can be a problem for smaller framed peeps, like woman. The length of pull is too long leading to some fumbling of the presentation.

For me, #4 Buck is the ticket. About a dozen .38 caliber pellets per shot. What's not to like?

The recoil and the amount of time it takes to get back on target compared to an AR based platform.

Or anything else these Socialist DemonRats want it "Changed" to.

By "Needs" I was referring to Clownshoes Cuomoe, the NY Gov-King, in his maniacle rant on the boob-tube, of " NO ONE NEEDS 10 BULLETS to KILL A DEEEYA"
("DEEEYA" is NY speak for DEER)

    :Puke:

    Fuck, we're fucked...

The original platform was built to be easy for eighteen-year-olds to shoot and haul over the battlefield. Simple as that. Same point of aim for 50 and 200 yards? Nice! Hauling 400 rds. of ammo at almost half the weight of an equally-equipped commie? Bonus. Easy recoil ... plenty of reasons.

I didn't know 5.56 was that much lighter than 5.45...

Huh? 7.62x39 is around 3.5lbs per 100 whereas 5.56 puts you around 2.5/100.

But I will say that the time is 5:45 somewhere!

What "communist" countries are you referring to?

Last time I checked the 74 has been adopted by Russia(yea ex-commie I know) and is slowly becoming the standard in other countries.

And just to be clear I am referencing the AK-74 which shoots a 5.45x39 bullet, being used in Afghanistan, China, North Korea and a whole bunch of other countries.

Jim, he's referring to the origination of the platform, when the Kalasnikov 7.62x39 was the weapon du jour of the Soviet Bloc.

    ;)

We were discussing shotguns vs the AR, if AKs are going to be brought into the discussion then one must be prepared for a knucklehead like me who loves the commie-counterpart. :Poke:
