RB, you know that Avocados are more profitable than pot to the Cartels? Oh yeah, the drug cartels are growing Avocados and you're right to not eat them. :D

Canada is the leading exporter of Canadians.

Without Potash, crop productions would be severely impacted. It is a very required part of fertilizer.

To the first one, 1.5 million is significant no doubt but, not earth ending for the 390 million people living here. The source could, would be re-routed.

To the second, The United States produces almost all of the natural gas it uses, and is the world's largest producer of natural gas. In 2022, the U.S. produced about 36.35 trillion cubic feet of dry natural gas, which was about 13% higher than consumption. The U.S. does import some natural gas to meet domestic demand. The U.S. is the world's largest producer of natural gas.

To the third, the crude oil thing... If you cut us off, you have almost no refining capabilities. We refine your crude for 80% of your gasoline. As much as we want to say we have one over, on one another... We are in this together. And like I said, This was a plan to get Trudeau to the table to talk about issues that are important to the American people... Border security for possible military aged male take overs, and geopolitical changes brought on by out of country influence through population.

My info is from the googles AI search. Ski

    That's a perversion.

We buy heavy Canadian crude because it's shitty and cheap, and our refineries can run it easily. Heavy Canadian grades can easily be replaced from the Middle East or Russia. If we stop buying it, the Canadian fields will constipate.

As for natural gas, the US has more natural gas than we can burn, and until recently a ton of it was flared because it was unwanted. Now that we can export LNG unfettered, and with EPA restrictions, the flaring has mostly stopped. There may be some geographic advantages for a small portion of the US to buy Canadian LNG, but we don't need it.

Regarding SOCOM sending guys to Mexico....thats a political stunt with almost no value. IF you go kill a few leaders and their guys, so what. As soon as you leave someone new pops in and takes over. This only works if you kill everyone involved. And I mean everyone involved, the leaders, the lieutenants, the guards, the delivery drives, the safe house people, the money guys, the lab people....everyone.

And Mexico wouldnt do that, or let us do that. So if we do it by force we have to degrade their capabilities (ADA, comms, etc) so the dudes in their military and political class on the drug payroll dont have any info to provide to the bad guys.

So basically we would have to invade Mexico, kill a million people and then set up anew government and military that isnt full of ex drug payroll people.

And then they would just ship from Nicaragua, Peru, Guatemala, etc instead of Mexico.

Ok - funny you post this. When we were in Germany at Xmas we met up with a good friend (expat, living there for almost 20 years) and his wife (she’s German).

My brother and Ken were discussing the whole NATO nations thing and his wife kept asking “Trump will still protect us right?”

I can't see how it's wiser to depend on our enemies in Russia and the Middle East for oil than one of our closest allies.

Best way to kill the cartel is to legalize drugs

    Drugs have no value

They're only sold for $ because they're illegal

It's not like you're stopping heroin or meth addicts. They're still getting their shit tonight.

Might as well legalize it and make it clean

Funny, had that conversation with some friends and because I felt like having some fun I said "No he won't and he's talking about moving the bases out to Poland and East."

Wiser to have options and use that to ensure you get the best value from your trading partners.

    Complacency has no place here.

My brother did the same thing but he was less kidding and more like “ I don’t know but y’all did this to yourselves”.:D

As far as the Poles go, the illegals attempting to come into the USA better be glad we don’t have the same deterrent policies the Polish are using.

Well said, just a couple things:

    - it’s 4.5 million homes powered by Canada, 1.5 million is from Ontario only.
    - US population is 345 million, I’m guessing you added in 45 million as that’s roughly the undocumented people living there?

We are TOTALLY in it together, we are your largest customer so it’s 100% in both our interests to play nice in the sandbox.
Only point I’m failing to see is why the US feels our border is unprotected or a major source of baddies. It’s literally 1.5% vs Mexico’s 96% when talking fence jumpers and considering we have a border that’s triple the size, and has seemingly worked extremely well in the past - dunno, just seems like Prez Trump wants to come out swinging and get some wins while simultaneously, and quietly stripping you guys of civil liberties and handing the keys to the kingdom over to the worlds foremost authority on greed and SS salutes.
