    @JBraun

    1) upper left lug - follow the contour of the top of the lug. It appears to have different angles within a small distance. Maybe from a hard knock or possibly a re-bevel that didn’t align.

    2) upper right lug has a significant gap between the lug and the bracelet.

    3) Lower left lug - either a hard dent or a polish/re-lug

    4) lower right lug - internal part of lug facing the bracelet has a line that looks like a scratch on the metal. External part of the lug near the end appears to be scraped off and then possibly be filled or polished.

that said, the dial looks great and the rest seems to have appropriate wear.

Not really sweating it, mostly research. I decided I'd pull the trigger when I found the right 5512, and that one was close. It just seemed like "unpolished" was a fantasy to my eye.

Or you could save yourself $20K and just beat the shit out of your current Rolly's. :D

Everytime you all mention "polished" I get pissed that they threw my sub on the wheel when I took it in for a band adjustment.

Underway bro! I’ve worn an Exp II almost every day for well over a decade, no matter what I’m doing.

A while ago I was wearing it on a NATO and wanted to switch back. I was struggling with my cheap spring bar tool so stopped into the Rolex store in La Jolla for help. The guy put on white gloves to handle my watch, then looked at it closely and made a face. :D
    It made my day.

So basically now I just want a classic to drive on Sundays.

I looked at those Relax watches back a few weeks ago and thought <gagging noises> “no way I’d buy one of those.”
I’m warming up to the idea even if the idea still makes me poop. A lot. :D

but I’m also getting emails from the usual places about Breitling sales. :D

Finally did it! Had it a month and love it. Detroit Watch Company Chrono Moonphase. Also, the owner serviced my DWC GMT and put it on a bracelet.

I have been looking at the GMT from them for quite a while. They have very nice things.

Patrick and Amy just launched a sister brand. Yellowstone Watch Company

I had lunch with Patrick when I picked up the Chrono Moonphase. Cool guy with great stories from his years as a designer in the automotive industry.

Came home from a long trip (racing and other stuff) to a gift from my in-laws. I've wanted this watch for a very long time, and now that I have it, I can confirm it's every bit as silly as I'd hoped it would be. Love it.
A perfectly useless afternoon: mechanical | Kristof Devos X Mr Jones Watches | Swiss Automatic Mechanical Movement

Looking for a deployant clasp/band for it. My fingers don't work super well, and the small manual clasp is fiddly. Oddly small strap size. Any recommendations for a source?

I don't always care for novelty watches but that one is really cool.

That's a very clever use of the "mystery dial" concept. Outer minute disc sits below the hour disc. Clear disc except for the details.
You should get a strap that matches the colour scheme. Maybe sail cloth with a deployant clasp buckle?

Please post final results. That's a very cool watch.
Pondering the watch's description last night, it definitely made sense.
