Well, in visiting Mega Donki in Shabuya, I saw some Seiko’s I liked. I started with the Seiko 5 GMT auto in Green, almost went with a maroon Prospex sub, but settled on the Batman-ish SBSC017 GMT auto. I figured the watch would go well at work but not be in your face like my coworker rocking a Hublot.
That's a sharp watch. Bought my old man a glock skeleton watch for father's day, it's very well built imo
I am on the cusp of pre-ordering a Sinn U15 as a work watch, I just have not been able to pull the trigger yet lol.
I've got a Sinn and it's become one of my favorite watches. Simple, classy and durable as hell. I say go for it.
On a pilot forum there is a guy near ATL with a Speedmaster Pro 2572.50, full boxes, papers, links, asking $3750. It ahs some normal wear for a ~25yo watch and a chipped Hesalite crystal. But seems decent. I think its a little much, but I'm cheap. If anyone is interested I can PM link and pics.
I've been looking around to see what was interesting and maybe a Tag F1 or an older IWC aquatimer. but. . . I need a new iphoner and I want a new Nikkor 200-500mm lens.
Some stupid sales on Breitlings going on and I'm trying to decide if I'm enough of a sorta sleazy chucklehead to pull one off.
Meh. About the only Breiting i would buy is something like this....SuperOcean and I even prefer the Vintage ones myself.. https://shopgoodwill.com/item/233840061
For me, the Breitling Vintage 3 register top-time is much more appealing than 99% of Rolex Daytonas. Link or Link or if you want Gold or Panda
I have had my eye on a green faced Navitimer on a bracelet for a while now, I have just not decided to pull the trigger
I equate Breitling to aviation watches and if you’re in aviation, I think it’s a solid choice. At least that’s my brand perception. On my flight back to the US I sat next to a pilot dead heading or on reserve and he was rocking a gold Rolex sub and I chuckled in my mind that if anyone should have a GMT or pilot watch, it would be a pilot running international routes. However his watch definitely had wear and tear as an everyday tool watch so a sub makes sense.
Some of the Grand Seikos I saw looked awesome, but in the $10k range, just not sure I would go GS vs a Tudor GMT. I also saw a mid-tier King Seiko line which I had not seen before.
King Seiko is a re-introduction. Solid stuff. They were a line in mid-60s. https://www.fratellowatches.com/a-b...iko-the-past-the-present-and-the-future/#gref
