Thanks! Found it on a youtube video and took a chance....the clasp and straps are Zuludiver and the clasp has their brand on it....it's a British company and paid a little extra for expedited shipping and DHL had it to me in 2 days. https://www.zuludiver.com
That GMT looks fantastic (that color combo is my favorite bezel) You and I also have one more thing in common besides an appreciation for autobahn burners on perfect stances and GMT color combos....I got that Sub as a result of a "trade plus cash" for my GS that I sold....no way I'd buy it over a bike and no way I'd even think of getting one if it didnt fall in my lap the way it did (and was a great deal to boot). I will say I have a whole new appreciation for the workmanship in them, and it is noticeable the next level they take it too when they are side by side with other divers (especially under a jeweler's loupe) and as a result, you'll never hear me argue about how much they cost....however, if you told me I can only keep one, it would be the Tudor. Appreciate the hell out of all the details that make a Sub a Sub.....but in a couple of days of wearing it, I already have an irrational love for the Tudor that just doesnt exist with the others. I literally smile to myself when looking at it when no one else is around....
Love the Relax! I've got two, a black SUBstitute and a Batman GMT. Enjoy the crap out of that watch, and $300!!
Would anyone be interested in a Batman Relax? I have two, I prefer the Sub for the bezel for keeping track of BBQ times and kids baseball and softball games. I don't ever wear the GMT and it just sits on the winder. Originally bought for my father, but he prefers an iwatch... looking for someone who will wear it, PM me if interested!
OK all you watch guys - all opinions wanted... If things go as planned and I get a nice bonus, what watch would you get yourself as a reward in the $5000-ish price range? I feel like I should reward myself this year. I have a couple months before deciding so I figured I'd start the process now. I like the Rolex 216570 (Poalr), but not seeing them near $5k anymore I'm also a Panerai fan, but not a fan of the latest movements - taking away features and not finishing them is kinda turning me off of the brand even though I love the look I have a Tag 5000SEL chrono from the 90s, and like that brand, but only the Monaco jumps out at me these days and the auto version is out of the price range. and.... GO!
Go to Chrono24 and put in your criteria and see what you like. I just did it and used - $4000-$5000 - used - box&papers - 2010-2025. It gave about 4500 results. You have an endless amount of choices from Tudor and Omega. One that jumped out at me on the first page was a Zenith El Primero high beat chronograph. Also a Grand Seiko spring drive chronograph. Those would be a ton of bang for the buck.
Its funny cuz talking with buddies I even said 'if I look at the Aquaracer, I'd rather get the Omega' LOL Thanks Steve - thats kind of the problem though. That price point seems to have SO MANY options haha... hard to make a decision on just one.
I don’t think you can beat the Tudor Pelagos in this price range. I love mine and might wear it the most of anything I have.
Id add a couple G's to that and get a vintage Seamaster 300. or you might find the re-pop 1957 trilogy around that price. Or a nice flight master and something else Or a vintage Tudor Chrono Or a vintage Hammy Chrono-Matic Pan-Europ Anything but a Tag please. unless said Tag was a real Tag and not a Tag Heuer...aka old.
What would I get for $5K? That's a really cool question that got me thinking. Aquaracer pepsi GMT? IWC Aquatimer or Pilot Chrono? A Panerai? A Tudor? Man, that's a fun position to be in.
