I am looking for a ride out there from the Toledo, OH area and wondered if any events were upcoming that I could split costs on rooming for any help out in the pits with etc... I need to get out to 4 and 6 racing to get my bike tuned and thought it would be easier to hitch a ride than ride the bike all the way out. And hey I might actually learn something in the pits. Or anything going on out that way that I can make an excuse for a road trip and pass it off with the GF....
Wow didnt know Autobahn was there, could only find the Route66 raceway and its listed as being closed. I moved up this way recently so dont know all the tracks up here.
I didnt think anyone would race blackhawk on a bike, I raced there a couple times in a car and didnt think it was that safe! Its the same distance from toledo to 4 and 6 as it is from putnam to 4 and 6 so that one is out.
Local tracks for the MW are Blackhawk, Road America, Autobahn, Grattan and Gingerman. There are a few more since you are in the Ohio area that should be a short distance for you. Blackhawk is a lot of fun, they did a repave a number of years ago, and they've done much clearing, adding airfence where they can. It's getting better all the time. Welcome to the neighborhood.
blackhawk is fairly safe. There are a few areas you could get hurt in if you fell, but hey, what track DOESN'T have that? I'd argue that BHF is no more or less dangerous than Road A...
