Pretty wild someone with 1/3 of the year not at work, that complains about their pay, has the balls to decide what a business venture is.
Proposing it as a professional race team(MotoAmerica), and explaining how a race team is a business has us on the same page now. We’ll see what his grade is.
If school districts were run as a business they would be bankrupt in the first year. Admin are required to have been teachers before they become admin. 99% of teachers don't know shit about being in the outside world.
So calm discourse resolved this issue with no violence or further drama? BORING! Go back and smack him around a little Cool story, G
Why the sudden shitting on teachers? They have to commit to spending tens of thousands and 4 years of their life to go and do a thankless job I wouldn’t do for 6 figures a year and they’ll be lucky to get $40k per year to start? You see the kids and parents you have to put up with today for that pittance? Mix in the administration and gooberment that hamstrings what and how you can teach. Oh, in nova you’d better tack on another 2 years of school, a masters and $60k just for that $40k job. yeah, some teachers need to go paint houses or pick up dog shit as their primary job but a lot of those have had to put up with the shit, your kids and you and are burned the fuck out. hahaha, truth isn’t always funny is it?
Dude, my brothers ex is a special ed teacher with her masters and made $100k years ago. I don't feel sorry for teachers making what they make, wherever. They knew what they were signing up for.
Chad, my assistant coach and friend is a special Ed teacher, early on in his career and he made less than I did on one of my side gigs. Yeah, eventually he might make some coin but if he doesn’t burn out first.
I’m the last one to defend most (if not everything) about education as a career choice and a culture as a whole - how f’d up it all is from top to bottom. That said, most of y’all’s anecdotal information about it is pretty laughable. What you don’t know would fill volumes. OP - glad it worked out or at least seems to have worked out.
So are you going to fight all your kid's battles his whole life? Are you going to threaten violence to everyone who does or says something you don't like or agree with? I wish you had taken a poke at the teacher because it would've been been funny when he beat you to within an inch of your life, failed your kid and then had you arrested. Shame on you. I pity anyone trying to teach your and apparently many others' children. I wonder if by insisting on your kid doing the business idea that you wanted him to do you didn't rob him of an opportunity to think up his own idea to research and pursue. Given that you wanted to fight the teacher for suggesting a different business I doubt your kid felt he could admit it if he had a different idea.
Go get elected on a school board if you really want to see a F'ed up "business". I did....what was I thinking?
I think there’s a pretty sizable difference between a teacher and a special ed teacher. Also, lots of people in theory know what they’re signing up for (nurses, soldiers, etc.) but I still find the ability to empathize with different people’s plight. YMMV.
