Okay GNF is done, last couple of scheduling emails have been sent. While I wait for those answers lets move on to the next major off season item...

Any rules ideas/suggestions need to be emailed to [email protected]

If you sent one in earlier this year, don't be afraid to send another. I have put them into a folder as I get them but things can get lost in the shuffle and I don't mind duplicates at all.

My first couple of things that my warrant some discussion - MW Twins - worth it or waste of time? It'd be like the R9, the Ducati V2 and older models under 1000cc or so, things like that.

Another item - GSX8R - let it in LW Twins? Maybe do a year in LWT SB under SS specs?

FWIW one item for sure is ULW 500 class in the endurance was an utter failure so it won't be back.

Stated in a more positive way...we were in a class of our own ;) (on an underpowered bike that couldn't outrun an R3...)

Side note..Aprilia RS 457 for sale...

    2026 Endurance Idea:

Charge the Relay Teams more (they can afford it..no endurance tanks and dry break and dump cans, quick change systems, fire extinguishers :D or race ending due to crash)...then distribute that extra $ to the top finishing Endurance teams...maybe that will help encourage them to make the switch...seems like some of them are just out there for cheap practice time ($150/hr)...:Poke:

This is a stupid question but what's the difference between MW twins and B superbike? Or would that be an added class in endurance?

I don't know the spec of the TST gsx8r but they weren't much faster than the lwt bikes in this year or prior.

Would it be better to do a blanket cc allowance under super stock rules? The Honda 750 and KTM 790 are in a similar performance bracket and don't have anywhere to slot into either.

I was gonna ask if they were going to reclassify the RS457 to E. I saw it mentioned somewhere earlier this year. Being an A2 bike it's mechanically limited and what's in the works will definitely disqualify it from anything SS. I got demolished by R3's, RC390's, and any N400/500 with an exhaust. I plan on keeping mine but it'd be nice to be more competitive.

    Side note...don't sell it!

No double bubbles or slicks in super stock! :D

On a serious note, the MW Twins idea sounds pretty cool. Wonder how that'd play out. At the club level, I'd also just be interested in just letting those bikes play in C classes. I don't think an un-neutered V2 ridden by a mid pack expert would immediately start beating the front runners riding 600s.

I'd like to see the rules for supertock engine mods be tightened up in the smaller classes. I'm not about to spend a couple grand building an R3 engine just to be competitive. I joined the class because I thought it was gonna be "cheap", fun racing, but it's not a lot of fun to watch another R3 pass me like I'm standing still on the back straight at Road Atlanta.

Why yes, I am a little butt-hurt, thanks for asking.

for those not competing in contingency money, what about a superbike Grom class? or would the grids be too small to make it worthwhile? not all of us are skinny like Joe and need the extra horsepower

No riders under 220 pounds. If at weigh in, a rider is shown to be grossly underweight, he/she/them, must wear an appropriate weighted vest to meet minimum weight.

It sounds like you're looking for enforcement of the current rules. In that case, it's up to you to protest. I know, nobody wants to be that guy...
That being said, I think it would be a good idea for the top 3 in superstock classes be brought into the shed for a visual inspection every so often.. Look what happened at the 2024 GNF when ULW bikes got inspected, and that was even after Mongo made it public before the event that they were going to take a look.

A superstock GSX8R is pretty lame. But, as soon as you put an exhaust, airbox kit and flash the ecu, the hp and tq go up quite a bit.
    stock gsx8r 76hp/53 tq
gsx8r with airbox kit pipe flash 86hp/62 tq
My suggestion is allow the gsx8r into LWTSB with superstock engine with an airbox kit. My reasoning is a superstock RS660 makes 91hp and weighs about 35 lbs less.

    yes to MW twins

allow the RS457 into ESS. The bikes are tuned for mid range with a tiny intake cam and have no top end power. I have dynod 3 of them with full exhaust, air filter kit and flashed ECU and they make 46ish hp at 9000rpm, then after 9000 rpm the power drops way off..

@Mongo allow the ducati 748 into LWT somewhere. The RS660 makes more BHP and is allowed in. The 1078cc Air-ccooled duc can run LWT SB and makes more BHP than the 748. The 748 is hated on bc its liquid cooled. o_O

I think people need to be more protest happy in the smaller bike classes. It only costs $100 to see someones airbox and $1000 to see someone's crank shaft. Sounds like a lot but if they're cheating you get that money back and the look of despair on their face is priceless.

With that said this year everyone on face value has been significantly better about following the rules just looking at lap times alone but there are still a few outliers(looking at you RTR) so next year for every 2 hour if someone goes faster than a set laptime I'm opening their airbox. If you're following the rules consider my protest as prize money. If not then suck it.

You can solve people using relay as practice by limiting teams to two riders so that there is actually an endurance aspect to it. Me and one friend did the four hour at GNF because the third guy crashed the weekend before. That was endurance for sure, not practice. Thank you to the random guy that held my bike because I was in too much pain to get off without dropping it after the second hour.

So you're basically doing what Lance and Chris do except they manage with just 1 bike. Refuel and possible tire change during pit stop.
