I'm interested to see how they combat the shaft drive system with the 1300. With the r nine t the two options were either super long or short so even if it has all the power in the world it might not matter.

dude wins the championship and it's "thanks, bye" as the team moves up. repeatedly. he's the nicest fuckin guy in the entire paddock, it's not even like he's a toxic rider or hard to work with. wtf

No disagreement here. I mean, he’s a 3x Stk1k champ and he really is a great guy

From reading SDK's announcement post I got the impression BMW had some say on signing riders.

I’ve been given the high five, Okee dokee from Andrew to post this

    Boiler plate, easy stuff is:

Had a great relationship with the team. Loved everyone, felt we had a good chemistry.

I had some communication issues with the crew chief. We shared him, he had a better relationship with the other rider so I felt my feedback sometimes wasn’t landing how I intended causing some tensions.

Were I went wrong was assuming the relationship would continue, I didn’t look for other pastures because I loved my spot and team.

That's a shame to read and hear. I've always liked him and his dad. I hope he finds something, I know finding money is always very tough, even when you are as good as he is.

I don't think anyone else has won the 1000SS championship as many times as he has.

Andrew Lee has been severely underrated since his days in STK1000. He’s a multi champ, can’t believe no one has thrown him on a SBK.

and he’s NICE as fuck. Got got to ride with him at Chuckwalla a few times and the dude is pure class.

That just sucks. Andrew and Jayson are good friends as well, right?

The SDK effect. It got Paasch last season.

Wasn’t there a guy who was flown over to win a SS championship for duc and then cut after he did recently?

Sorry if I missed it, but any word on Mesa's plans for 2026? Miss seeing him out there.

He was out for most of last season with an injury then subsequent healing time after surgery. He's been riding a bunch lately.

From everything I've read about Andrew in the past, the post above I think further solidifies what I already suspected. I'd guess he simply doesn't know how to approach the sport as a business and there's maybe a bit of naivety in his approach.

Obviously the guy is wicked fast. Every person who's met him has nothing but great things to say. Never read a cross word about him. I'd guess he just isn't as skilled at or hasn't appropriately prioritized obtaining personal sponsorships or playing the political games of the paddock. And that sucks.

We've seen at every level that most rides can, and in many cases must be bought. And finding yourself without a ride unexpectedly with no backup plan honestly feels like a rookie mistake, especially for someone who has been in this position before. I absolutely love my current job, my boss is fantastic, the company is on an upward trajectory, etc. But the reality is that can all change overnight. Thus I have at least 2 backup plans that I could easily fall back into and I continue to maintain those contacts and relationships just in case. In a world as volatile as motorsports seats and knowing your relationship with the boss is less than perfect, I can't fathom not maintaining a backup plan at all times. Hell what better example do you need in your own paddock than Warhorse to constantly remind you of this truth?

Really hope something comes together for him as I think the grid is stronger with him on it. And hopefully he has some good lessons learned going forward.

Xavi Forés. But, that was also the Warhorse HSBK Ducati team. So, kinda par for the course with them.

This. I am afraid that there are too many riders that trust their teams on a personal level when the teams operate on a business level. It is a shame that there seems to be minimal loyalty on the part of most teams.
