For the money in SMX flagging is JOKE on the best day...

I have seen too many riders get blown over or penalized for bad flagging, there have been too many incidents of "jumping on a cross flag" when the flag was just out of a 180 turn up the face of a triple, those guys committed to the trip on the corner entry, so having on the exit is asking for trouble.

This sport has enough money to have the same flaggers EVERY weekend at a SX. Pay the flaggers and fly them in

 

Feld is, quite literally, a clown show. I find SX very entertaining and it probably is the best-packaged motorsport for an American audience. But damn some of the issues with them cheapening out on dirt, packing too many events in during the evening so the track is a shit show, and the poor safety in general gets old.

Hondas team manager seemed more worried about Joe's fingers than the instability of the 450's saying he suspects that his fingers are going to be a bigger, longer lasting issue.

 

Yes this injury is tough to heal and will probably take him out of any chance of winning the 250 championship and if they do not heal correctly than his career could be over. Hands and wrists are super tricky, injuries there have ruined more than one great, and almost another one

 

I just got my last two pins pulled out of my Bennett's fractured left thumb Friday. One came out on its own about a week and a half earlier.
Splint off for 20 minutes, getting coffee and it was out 18-22 mm.
I feel for Joe.

 

Crazy to think a plastic board did that much damage, I've had my finger pinched by logs while cutting trees and managed to escape two pieces of heavy wood without that kind of damage. Hope he can recover fast!

So maybe it hasn't necessarily been bike issues as much as it's been the ability to fully focus on riding.

Does not look like the same repair. I will look to see if I have x-rays of mine. 3 pins for 5 weeks and a day for me.
I imagine you are going to need some OT to build your hand strength back up, after that long.

Not a ton. A few races here and there. Bikes are pretty much the same too.
