When I looked after reading your post, Ella was at the top of the list! Cool to see so many so close in lap times. Rob has said it's very windy there today, so they're all riding a bit more cautiously today.
Thank you for correcting me, Humble. I clearly was 'speed reading' and missed reading Sam's name. If you see them, please apologize for my mistaken identification.
Fast times, especially with the Weather Channel reporting 24 mph winds and higher gusts. Seven of the eight riders within a second of each other (almost.)
The checkered flag has been waved at the end of the second day of official testing. The numbers look good, but I look forward to hearing the reports. Chase pulled a half a second on the field in the last 2 hours.
Interesting times, winning pace for expert on the 400 was in the 19s. I figured these would be a little faster honestly. Early days still perhaps. Either way, glad the test went pretty well for everyone and MSRC is a great track!
Really? same track and same direction? curious cause I would have thought the 390 would be faster. what series? Not arguing but that’s good info to know cause I was trying to find comparisons.
Yep, same track and direction. CMRA. Outright fastest I have seen posted on a 400 was in the 18s. Race pace for winning expert in the 19s, fast teams on 400s in endurance in the 20s and 21s.
I'm thinking this probably had a lot to do with the slower times. Anyways, its not like they've been spending the weekend going for outright speed, they've got to learn the bike, figure out the setup, and get comfortable on it.
Not to mention the Ninja 400's have 6 years of development onto them now vs hmmm, 6 hours of development in the last 48 hours lol...
As mentioned, Cmra has had experts on 400’s do 18’s @ cresson. hell, Kevin Olmedo did 19’s on his 2nd stint during endurance race there on a 400.
For reference, Kramer had their prototype at Vintage Fest in October. I did a quick search and it looks like the fastest time they did that weekend was a 1:38.6. The 400 race was immediately before and the fastest lap from that race was 1:38.0. They should be pretty close, and as the kids and teams develop them I bet the Kramers will end up being faster.
Would this maybe have anything to do with the racers on the Ninja400s having been there before and have done a lot more laps than some of these kids at the test maybe seeing the track for the first time ever on a bike they've never ridden, plus the gusty wind conditions? just curious.
