Thinking about selling my 2016 Yamaha R3 track bike.
I bought it from someone who picked it up at a storage lot auction so no title I do have a bill of sale,

Traxxion front springs and 20w oil Stock springs included. I’m 220lbs.

Norton rear shock conversion to the Ninja 650 shock.

Norton exhaust block off plate, velocity stack, and tuned ECM

Delkevic full exhaust system with muffler and db killer (my local track has sound regs)

    Keyless start and gas cap

    Annatori quick shifter

    Bridgestone S22’s f/r

    Stainless braided brake hoses f/r

    Antigravity AG 401 battery
Geared 13/47 with 520 chain and aluminum rear sprocket

Great beginner bike that got me started in track riding and carried me to B group.

    $2500 - Phoenix, AZ.

Starting to think twice about selling this bike. Considering doing a suspension upgrade and tire replacement so I can wring its neck for at least another season. LOL.
or take it up to Maine and go after Kurlon.

After looking at the rest of the bikes for sale, and considering the scope of this forum, this bike may be a bit too "beginner-ish". It is a great way for a track day noob (like me) to get their feet wet at a great price. I've never dropped/crashed this bike (maybe went off the course once or twice, by overcooking a corner and/or entering too early (like the noob I am), but it looks like the previous owner did have some light drops on the street.

  4. is this bike still available?

I'm still kicking around the idea of selling it, but I do love that scrappy little bike.

I just put a new set of RS10's on it as well as new rotor with SBS pads, and tossed the damper rods in favor of some Traxxion AR-25 cartridge damper rods. I also put a new rear sprocket and chain on it.

Since that it only has one track day on it (Chuckwalla). I'm in Phoenix, btw...

I've talked to a few people about it. I'm pretty sure the first person who sees the bike in person will plunk down the $2500. I'm definitely not in a hurry to sell it, as the little bike is a hella lotta fun on a trackday.
I have 2 trackdays coming up in early-mid May, so I'm sure I'll still have it then.

Are you willing to sell it before those days?

I already have prepaid for a track day in Phoenix on May 4th, so I'd like to keep it until at least then (since my other bike likely wont be ready).

I see you're in Vegas. Were you at the CRA race last weekend?

Honestly, this bike probably not the best bet for a race bike. According to CVRA and CRA race rules, my bike as it sits would only be able to (legally) run in the Superbike category, and it would be super uncompetitive there. You could make changes to the bike to run in the 300 Supersport class, but you'd have to remove some of the "performance parts" off the bike, and buy race fairings (so you have a containment pan) or fabricate something that attaches to the stock fairing (and hope it passes tech). They do inspect them, so be ready for that. I'd imagine since you are out of Vegas, you'd race with either CVRA or CRA.

Also, to be competitive, you'd need to stay in the 300 class, but you can run in the 400 class, and there are certain concessions on mods (expensive) allowed exclusively for the R3, but you'd probably still just match the power of a stock Ninja 400.

Now as a track bike, its f*cking great!

If you want to get started in racing in the smaller classes, I'd look for a Ninja 400 or RC 390.

Not trying to rain on your parade (or say I know better than you), just my $0.02.
