I was wondering if I can just bolt on a 636 top end to a rr bottom end... leaving the crank the rr (as it is lighter) and literally everything that bolts onto the crank up from a 636. I have two motors one a 636 the other a rr. I want the best all round motor. What combination would be the best.

I want the close ratio trany and slipper from the rr for sure. I'm not sure what past that I should take off the rr motor and put into my 636. I have both motors apart, so effort isn't an issue.

most guys I've talked to use the 04 RR head and tranny and the 636 block. the 04 RR head has the race cams. That combination gives you the slipper clutch, the extra displacement and the race cams. I was told the 03 RR didn't come stock with the race cams.

yeah the cams aren't race cams on the 03... which crank are they using? the rr crank is lighter, I was thinking I should use that one

just put the 636 crank, rods, pistons, and head onto the rr motor then buy the kit cams and valve springs the cams are only $199 retail each. if u want to run race fuel put the rr thin head and base gaskets in also..there is hp to be gained with some head and cyl work also!
