-06 GSXR frame insert thingy

My track -06 gsxr 600 has these rubber inserts on both sides of the frame. The fairing lines up with a bolt going through the fairing into each insert. The fairing is of unknown origin, painted over on the inside so no manufacturer name visible. These inserts do not appear on the OEM parts fiche. They don't seem to have a threaded inner surface, so the bolts don't seem to thread into anything solid, and I can pull them out of the insert by tugging on the fairing. That's less than optimal for getting through tech. I can't pull the inserts out easily, and haven't tried with violence.

Anybody know if mine are just "broken", where to get replacement parts? What about just getting the OEM fairing clip to keep the fairing on place? Photos of am below.
    Thanks

I don't know where to buy them or who makes any but I made pins out of delrin which get bolted to fairing. Then you push body in just like stock one.
Maybe check with some of the bodywork manufacturers

My bodywork for an'06 GSXR-750 came from Attack Performance, when they made bodywork. They came with aluminum pins to push into those hole.
Even though Attack doesn't make bodywork anymore they might have some of the pins around, worth a call to them.

I 3d printed some of these. They fasten to the fairings with an M5 screw, then just pop into those grommets on the frame.

Thank you all for the suggestions and solutions. I think my fairings are Armorbodies and the the Woodcraft kit looks exactly like what's installed now so I ordered the kit. We'll see how well it works.

i've never used them on track fairings. it just takes longer to remove bodywork when in a rush

Since we're on the topic of gixxers of this vintage, the air intake pipes running inside the front of the fairing are a major PIA. They never stay in place, the rubber molding that are supposed to make them fit in the frame are all sloppy and don't do anything to keep the pipes tight to the openings in the frame. Being as sloppy as they are, do I really need them? Am I risking getting crap where it doesn't belong by running without them? Any solutions for keeping them in place, that doesn't involve Gorilla tape?

On the Armour Bodies upper, there is a small divot underneath the handlebar area. Drill a hole at that divot, and stick a self-tapping screw right into the intake tube. Voila, your intake tubes don't go anywhere anymore. Of course you need to make sure they're actually in the right place before you drill into them, but I've had great success with this. They come out with the upper and go back with ease once you get the hang of navigating the fairings back into position.

I should say that neither of my GSXR's have used screws to mount the upper, instead having 5/8" pins that they drop onto. Between that and the pins in my picture above, removing the upper doesn't require any tools. Idk how it would work getting it in place and holding it there while installing the hardware.

@WIslowpoke , all of what @Martin Lewis wrote. That said, I had a set of hotbodies fairings where the air intake pipes stayed snug without screwing them into place.

Get a roll of door seal foam, the kind that has adhesive on one side, wrap around the end of the intake tube till you a good tight fit

used to use old inner tubes to make the connection air tight

You could just zip-tie the rears of the upper fairings to the frame like this.

Thank you all for your suggestions and comments. New frame insert thingies in place. Ram air tubes attached to the fairing with self-drilling screws and a good gob of black goo. I'll slap some Gorilla tape on top just to make the screws a little less eye-catching. 20250517_130612_copy_277x600.jpg
