Pirelli Angel ST is a solid choice for a lighter bike like the MT09. I have the Angel GT on my FJR but that’s a bit heavier than the MT09.

Does that Angel GT hold up well on the FJR?
I love the PR5 when new but like most other tires the rear on the FJR goes pretty quick and tends to cup a bit.
Here is a PR4 that I got ~4k out of, its pretty squared off too. 70% of hose miles are getting to the mountains 2 up.

Not to be critical, but do you really ride with someone on the back that you care about with a tire like that?

There is also a "GT" version of the Road 6 which is designed for heavier vehicles and tend to last longer than the regular Road 6.

Not on purpose, it went on a trailer and we rode home on my friends Goldwing immediately after that appeared. Believe it or not she didn't insist on buying a Goldwing after either...

That was a PR4 GT, the 5 GT is on now and seems slightly better so far.

    Steeltoe What's my move?

May be why I currently have a Pilot Power 2c rear and q5s front

Yep. However, I have the “A” Spec version that are supposed to be made for heavier sport tourers. I’m no Rossi, just a trackday legend in my own mind, and the Angel GTs allow me to live out my Isle of Man and MotoGP fantasies on country roads without fear of losing grip. They last a decent while too.

Hard to beat the Michelin power 5 or 6 tires. I put them on whatever they will fit on.
Got tires are cheaper than crash damage and medical bills.

You may have ridden it 4k but I think you 'got' 3500 out of it. :)

I know the fat boy french tires are good but Pirelli’s are just as good with less rain groves. The grip has to be affected when your picking up the bike with those cuts and getting on the power.

(If we had more rainy days in Texas I may have chosen them)

According to the traction control on my H2 SX SE, it doesn't. It hasn't lit up on any of the Road series I've used on it.
I agree the Pirelli sport touring offerings are very, very good as well. I'd recommend either.

Lots of guys would run the Pilot Power front and the Road rear on their VFRs and replace the front 2x to a rear.

4200 miles from a Power GP2 rear, double that for the front, without even using the far edges! :D
