have a mt09 that’s used as commute to/from work and occasional run on non tight turn backroads. Noting crazy. What’s opinion on tires.

Opinion: If you're gonna ride in the wet, I'd get a set of Michelin "road" series tires. Otherwise, they're all stupid good these days from the name brands. It's kinda hard to go wrong as long as you get a dual compound tire of the right size.

I agree with this. For sport touring I’d buy the Michelins but for any sport bike/aggressive riding I look for deals. Dunlop usually has some rebates on those Q5s.

I agree. I'll never again do anything for a streetbike other than a sport touring tire. You have sticky edges for the canyons if you do that, and the harder center works great for commuting without flat spotting. Great in the rain.

Ive never gotten any better riding done on hypersports vs sport touring. Only difference was buying another set hyoersports stupid soon because...they flatspotted commuting around town.

    Steeltoe What's my move?

Sport touring carcass was way too stiff for a light supersport on the street for me. They're made for bikes like a Concours. I tried the Dunlop Roadsmart whatever and they beat the shitte out of me and the bike. What sport touring tires are you guys running?

Michelin Pilot Road 4, 5, 6, etc. if you plan to ride in the rain.

Bridgestone S23 if you want more sticky but still good life out of them.

I cant believe no one has mentioned Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV.

all I can say is wow! They transformed the handling and confidence from the totally crap Japanese Dunlop RS II's that came stock on the bike. The Pirelli’s grip from the moment you swing a leg over the bike. Dual compound as well.

Not sure about mileage but the Dunlop RS II's was just a tad over 3k and was close to being done. That tire just sucks...period. Front end feel was non-existent and even had a nervous wobble if you threw caution to the wind. I hear the RS IV is a better tire but they are proud of them tires. Pirelli’s are $30-50 cheaper per tire.

I have not ridden in the rain on the Pirelli but they have to be better than the crap Dunlops.

Every time I need street tires, I rabidly read all the reviews then buy the tire with the biggest rebate offer.

Suck it up buttercup. I've been running Michelin Road 5s on my '16 Street Triple R for years on the street. I don't have to worry about chasing a new set of tires every month, and if I do get caught in the rain, it's like cheating. Never had a problem with traction in the dry. Most of my body abuse comes from not running a softer setting in the suspension.

I've got Dunlops, Bridgestone, Pirelli and Michelin on my bikes. I just put Michelin Road 5's on my Tuono and FZ1, and they were both transformed. Handling is so predictable and confidence inspiring. I push harder than I should on the street, and they are absolutely planted. Great turn in, and have yet to come close to a slide at 9/10ths. Great in the rain as well. Definitely my favorite tires.

Michelin Power GP2 for me. My pace and lack of any safety net (electr aids) impose them (or it could just be placebo lol) I don't ride wet roads,though...
Many people rave about Brigdestone S22's even over S23's

Recently picked up some pirelli Rosso but was 1 version older than current. Got delivered with a date code 30 days old. Guess this is a thing with pirelli to continue production on the prior model. I got 30 day old tires at a clearance price

I’ve had two sets on my Superduke, and they were great tires. But I was disappointed with their durability. They fell off after 2k, unlike the S22’s that gave me 3k.

Switched up to Diablo Rosso 4’s and am very happy so far. They have about 2000 miles, with 500 of those miles from Deal’s Gap and curvy roads here in MD. My crew does spirited rides, so tires get quite a workout. The DR4’s are holding up well, should be able to get another 1000 miles out of them.

Same for me - I had the Road 6s but swapped over to the Power 6s and I like them WAY better. Unsure if it’s all in my head or not, but I likes what I likes.

I could kinda give a shit about replacing a rear every 2Kish miles (S1000XR) - much cheaper than crashing because I ride like an idjit and want all the tire I can get.

The Conti RaceAttack 2 Streets are a race carcass tire with a longer lasting rubber. Best sporty tire out rn, imo. And lasts a long time to.
