He did. Incidentally, Espargaro said that he got really scared when he came into the garage after the race because he thought he was dying.
Did you watch for the warmup? There was a very animated conversation between Tardozzi and Campinotti in a garage about 2 minutes after the bikes got on track. Of all the private conversations that have occurred in MotoGP this year, the one with Marquez and the Honda bosses in Japan might be the only one whose transcript I would choose over this one.
You know, I'm with other noted Frenchman De Coubertin in this, it's the participation that counts!.....
Amazing races. Glad to see the championship tighten up. The number of passes was insane. Wsbk race two didn’t disappoint either.
I don't think Pecco really lost that much in this race. Martin spent a warning for exceeding tire pressure for more than half the race. In this race letting the warning happen may have been a strategic move by Pramac and very well may have made the difference. Now Pecco and Jorge are on even terms in that regard. Next either one does it they'll get a penalty. I think that any team on the grid would bet that one-shot low-pressure chip to place higher at the right time.
Isn't the control about being below minimum pressure rather than above? Having lead the whole race (no one in front), that may be why he under shot.
You're right. The warning was for being under the minimum pressure. But the point is that you could argue that starting with a bit lower pressure than everybody else contributed to his ability to get in front. Otherwise, why would the teams try to get as close as possible without going below the min? There's an advantage to be had. We know that all of the contenders would go lower if there were no penalty.
Does anyone know why they don't make something that can let off excess pressure and is adjustable? Seems like with all the technology available that wouldn't be a big challenge?
