I know a lot of y’all won’t care but I lusted after one of these in High School. could only afford the generic FZR. Tim Estensen had a jacket in his collection that he donated.
I have one of those in my garage I would have sold you. Has under 8,000 miles. Cool bike either way. Congrats.
Fack!!!! I liked those too, even ran against them at 1 national round at Willow. Well I was on the same track as them, can’t say I was in the same zip code, they were 5 seconds a lap quicker. But it was also my first year racing. Stevens and I can’t remember the second rider on V&H. I think Jeff Farmer won, or almost won that day, and he impressed me the most. A privateer, in a van, with one mechanic battling with Vance and Hines. Way back then the mechanic told me the dad was spending over $100k for Farmer to race that year, all in.
Earlier this year, found a 1994 Yzf-750sp homologation model in Canada, going to do a frame-up restoration and Jamie James is going to paint it in his V&H Superbike colors, and put his number and signature on the tail. Can’t wait!
Nice. I didn't care for that scheme back in the day. I bought the white '92 version. White wheels FTW!!!
That single headlight I think was 91-92. Hated it. Yamaha knew they Fd-up going from the dual headlights on the FZR600 from 89-90. 91-92 had single headlights then 93 they went back to dual for the final year of FZR.
DAYUM!!!! save some pu$$y for the rest of us player! Is the jacket satin??? Pretty sure Stickboy has that same whip…
I bought one after Dean Hayes and AL Hall ripped around Daytona with the 4&6 crew with killer top speed. Stepped up from the 88' Hurricane I started with. I had the black with the hot pink and blue. Dam thing fouled a shit load of plugs though. I had that same D&D pipe and it was loud as hell
Have a beautiful FZR in our collection as well. It's in the hands of my nephew right now on the Campus of Ohio state. He's loving it.
