She's cutting a mesquite bush root with long handled pruning shears. It was a bit much for the weedwhacker even with the rinotuff brush blades mounted.

 

It is beautiful. We are talking about going there or the montage for Thanksgiving with some friends. Our kids are going to their in laws this one.

I would absolutely love to be a lighthouse "attendant" (not really sure what you call them)

As I understand it they drop you off there, leave you a shitload of provisions, and resupply you regularly. Other than that, glorious solitude.

I could definitely see me doing that for a year, no phone, no internet. Just me and a gargantuan stack of all those books that you are 'supposed to' read.

That would be fkn awesome.
