76-77 mont 60-8-12= 132 points, 22-23 boston 53-12-16 =122 pts after 81 games. i think the record is safe.

 

Huh? They’re 64-12-5 and have the record.

 

82 2 point games vs boston with 17 3 point games, boston is 11-6 in ot = 28 pts. maybe put a * . if mont at the least went 6-6 instead of the 12 ties add another 6 pts. apples to apples

 

Yeah you can’t really have a perfect comparison to the tie era, which was awful btw, I hate ties. Hell of a season either way, they’re going to be tough to beat.

 

I don’t know what fuzzy math you’re using but Boston has the record.

History shows these hot teams tend to flame out in the playoffs. I think the Bruins are good enough to overcome that but we'll find out starting next week.

 

and boston uses that euro football math. i m not a fan of the one point for a ot loss.2 points are giving for a reg win ( winner-2 , loser -0) but a ot game gives 3 (2- wnner, 1- loser). loser ot or not shouldnt get shit. oh and good comeback, whats next “ first day on the internet”

Nah. Was just kidding around. I’ve only more closely followed hockey for a few years and hadn’t considered the scoring method had changed until reading your post.

We were at the Canes/Sabres game over the weekend and saw a few Howe Whalers sweaters. Thought that was pretty cool.

I was just getting ready to check this thread. Best time of the year, 2 months of playoff hockey! Of course I'm pulling for the Rangers but we'll see.

My opinion, the best team in the west can't beat the worst team in the east in a 7 game series.
