Idaho Finger Steaks

Been thru there a million times and never heard of em. I generally don't stop in Idaho.

 

I've lived in Idaho for 35 years now. I see them on menus. I've eaten my share. Never knew it was just an Idaho thing.
They usually come in basket with fries or tater tots.
The batter is usually a dark brown.
Looks like a basket of poodle poop auminer would harvest.

 

so, chicken fried steak but for kids?

Unlike in Wisconsin, they’re not made with real fingers.

My father worked there and I grew up there. I’ve been back to visit a couple of times. Idaho Falls is a nice little town, Craters of the Moon is very interesting. Arco, where the reactor was, is the definition of middle of nowhere.

 

Whereabouts are you at?

Also, Fry Sauce? Not just an Idaho thing, been making a mess of ketchup and may since I was little.

i almost bought a house and relocated to CdA two years ago... but ended up in north Central AZ. I love Idaho, might retire there someday.
