zone way out of gold lakes snopark in California. Hour out of Tahoe. Chasing the snow for a few weeks wherever it may be.
I have EXTENSIVE experience with walking on icy surfaces after living in the Colorado mountains for a decade plus. I can not put my entire body weight on my feet on the road surface here. Base of about 1/2 inch of wet sleet, with about 1/4 inch of wet drizzle all day and temperatures hovering around 30. If it was slicker'n owl snot yesterday, I don't have a colloquialism for this.
Well no thats not how it works. The dog poops in the snow, causing the snow to melt a little, and then it freezes again. So you end up with messy poop popsicles when it all melts
Have you seen my selfie in the oddball picture thread?!?! I'm too damn old for that chit! Dog poo, my ass! I ain't even started my truck since I cut out early and came home Monday at just after noon! I legit would not drive on the road leading to my house even with 4WD, which the dookie truck doesn't have. I think the major roads are probably fine for someone with half a brain, which, again, most mofos around here don't have! It kinda depends, akshully... If the temps are down in the mid 20s or lower, then you just give the pile a test whack with the scoop blade and then a kick with your brogan to loosen it if it's a good, solid poopsicle. if not, just scoop as normal. The test whack is crucial, though... you don't wanna kick a fresh one.
Going good. We are in a cycle of cloudy days right now. Lows in the mid 50s with highs in the low 70s. Didn't see the sun all day. I'm 100% solar/offgrid, so far so good. Even with cloud cover I'm making power.
