Anybody know a manufacturer or part number for an adjustable aftermarket brake lever for Moriwaki MD250H? (Anything that fits a Honda RS125 should also fit the MD250H.) The stock lever has some adjustment but doesn't adjust inwards far enough, need something to fit the small hands of a 9-10 year old kid.
I thought Stew and RSCycles had Alterna adjustable and foldable brake levers for Nissin master cylinders.
I checked with him on it some months ago and he didn't mention that but I'll ask him again, it has been a while and maybe he has a new option that he didn't have then. Thanks.
I think CRG has a lever that will work. Was using one with the stock RS125 master cyl before I replaced it with a Brembo.
Thanks for the suggestion. I almost did that, when I couldn't easily find an adjustable lever; it seems like an easy and simple solution, but then I was warned by a mechanic that doing would weaken the lever and could potentially result in it snapping off when under pressure. Sounded sort of unlikely to me that it would actually happen, but if it DID happen and caused a bad crash I'd be horrified to have been the cause so I decided not to try it. I've seen dirt bike levers get bent in a crash and still work for years, but I have also seen people snap them pretty easily if they tried to straighten them back out. What are the general thoughts on that, IS it OK to heat up a stock brake lever and bend it, or does that process weaken the lever?
Back ages ago before adjustable levers, we used to bend the levers out for road racing. We used some wrenches, no heat. I think that bike went away three years later with that lever.
