Man, one of my riding buddies had that exact year, and color. I loved it! There has to be thousands of old Gixxers squirreled away in barns....unfortunately, probably beat to death and in heaps.

 

For some reason, that bike reminds me of the hammer you bought from Ace Hardware. I've replaced the head twice, and the handle 3 times, but it's still an Ace Hardware hammer.

It looks really well done so I don't know that that's the best guide for value. The ZX7 do seem to command more than say a GSXR. At least certain years. That thing still has 3 days left so I wouldn't be surprised if it went well over 10 grand
