Eddie Hall has done everything he can to cheese out and commercialise strongman. I’m glad the mountain beat him.

 

couldnt get past 6 mins... hes in beginner group and is expecting the be competitive on a Busa at a trackday but titles it racing??

I watched the whole video and he seemed like a perfectly fine guy.

No, it's not racing and yes he's quite slow on his busa, but he seemed humble and reasonable about things.

 

Yeah actually watched it. He seems like a regular guy and having fun. As far as I heard he never called his track day racing. Seemed level headed and safe. Can't blame the guy for a bit of an ego and being competitive. And as far as his commercializing Strong Man that helps provide competition and financial opportunities for a lot of people. Participants, sponsors, support folks, you know. A lot like motorcycle racing........

 

I thought it was pretty good. He went from "Look how strong I am! I'll be great at this," to "Goddam, I suck," in a matter of minutes, with a bit of humor and a healthy dose of self-realization. I was hoping for a 12-year-old girl to go whistling past him on a Ninja 250, but you can't have everything.

 

So I wonder what dad's times were.

 

I think Dad was just there to spend some time with his son and not take a lap in the ouch wagon.

At 340 pounds that front end on that Busa had to be begging for mercy.

 

Seems like a nice enough guy, hey if he's promoting more interest in motorcycles what's wrong with that.

 

My comments are about the video nothing else. The fellas father seemed like he would have a few good stories to tell... seemed humble enough to discourage any racing at a track day.

And you're correct about the father, was actually telling his son to chill out and take it easy.

 

I'd ride with him...he didn't go full Rossi on his first track day. But I was thinking the same thing...that Busa is screaming for mercy

Would have been cool if he had dead lifted his bike up.

I think he would have had way more fun wringing the snot out of a 400 with a suspension sprung for his weight though.

 

I had no idea who this bloke is but when he said he was on a Hyabusa I was half expecting one with stretched swinging arm.

I did my first track day years ago.

 

He may have settled down a bit now……maybe the Viking humbled him a bit. But For quite a bit of time he tried too hard to put on a Wilhelm type persona and it came off as a clown show. I did start to like him a few years back when he ranted about how much of a douche Ahhhnold is. And he is! Eddie looked like he was going to deck him at the Australia deadlift record. But he then jumped on the Ahhhnold train for money soon thereafter. I’m just of the principle before money camp. So I’ll leave it at, if he’s toned down the clownshow, then awesome. More power to him and best of luck to him on the bikes.
