2003 XR100R Should I buy an OEM 16" Rear (1.60) rim/hoop to use on the front instead of buying a used XR80 front (1.40), and lace it up w/ the front hub. I am unknowledgeable on where to get spokes (Cheap$) for that modifictatioon? Tyres: Bridgestone BT45 or BT46? 110/90/16 front and rear? Kenda? Best front brake shoes are OEM, I am guessing. Best gearing combo for good speed on gokart track? Advices? Bike came w/ a 428 ~ 15/46, is this any good? Original/OEM is 14/50 I got the BBR rear spring, and bought an OEM CRF100 shock to do the drill/tap hole and put 15wt in the shock. Forks: Brand/wt of oil and how much oil (cc and/or airgap)? Welding up and re-drilling the rebound rods: Any advice on hole sizes, other mods etc? Brake/clutch levers: I had a massive stroke, my hands are weak and confused, and malfunction once tired (quickly).... what would be the best low-cost perches and levers. I rented a bike and the OEM levers/pull cooked my hands w/in a few sprint races. Quick(er) turn throttle housing??? Less wrist movement for me = my hand lasts longer. Oiled or non-oiled air filter for gokart track (not dirt/offroad)? Remove the spark arrestor for more flow? Jetting? That's all I can think of know, I am sure I will add to this in the next few days. Any other advice/suggestions, always appreciated
http://www.buchananspokes.com/products/spoke_kits_honda_crfaspt I think 105 is the largest main on a stock carb. I would check the cam tower & do the upgraded oil pump.
check the linkage bushings... You can take ~8oz off the stock flywheel. Factory pro makes a shift star kit thats worthwhile.
I can't help on specific XR/CRF100 set up info, but when it comes time for new chain and sprockets the XR/CRF80 420-sized stuff will bolt right on. Depending on what the throttle tube and inside of the housing looks like, you can probably shorten up the throw on the stock tube with a little bit of epoxy. I have done a couple of them and they work well (stock DRZ and stock KTM 85 tubes). You just want to add a little diameter to the tube.
You buy an xr80 / crf80 front wheel and bolt it right up. It is the easiest way to get your 16" front wheel
Got the wheel on order form ebay. Everything coming along OK so far. Toad, thanks for the pix!!! Thank you everyone!!!
