Laying down beside the track to cause a red flag?

    That's a flat track thing. Road racing it's highly frowned upon. Motocross you better get the fuck up if you can because otherwise you are getting run over. In flat track even though it shouldn't be accepted I've seen plenty of racers do it, get up and line back up and race on the restart

    I don't believe this is the first endurance where someone knew of the 30 min rule in the last 4 hours and might have taken their time to get up after a low side so that they'd still get the podium if it drew a red flag.

    Maybe. But it should be the last. Simply make a rule that if you cause the red flag. You are a DNF. No matter the time or laps completed. If it’s a crash with multiple bikes but you weren’t at fault, sorry about your luck (or lack of it).
