We use the green "wicking" loctite at work for sealing up already assembled parts (screws and nuts) to hold air pressure and to help secure them in place. It's probably about on par with the blue for actual "permanence". No torch required to break things lose, unlike the red.
anyone back in the day? had people? weld shifters to shift shafts and have shit happen and want tou to work on the shit??? kinds of likes loctite red.... grrrrrr
had many people bring their shit welded.... and agree .... exactly had many people bring their shit after doing such.. and wanting me to fix... ?? was what ya want to spend...
I tried to find a pic of a good safety wire job on bing, but they all looked like they were done by motorcycle racers. Let me get to work tomorrow and I'll show you functionally perfect thread lock.
all kidding aside... not shitting anyone..always had an worked on bikes etc... people in local area would want help/ fix shit.bring shit and yes I've seen it multiple times... old husky... 79 rm ... worst was a 86 yz guy weldedbshif/shaft needed a bottom end....he started at the top didn't read and tried to pull cylinder.. manual more or less said break loose lift so far and turn.... he went straight up sticking a ring in transfer port..and then brings the shit and well let's say after all that abuse .. he never came back and was a paper weight.. sat in space for few yrs...before scrapped it..
I used it yesterday on a bipod bolt. A dab on the bolt head where it is easy to grind off with a dremmel if needed.
I prefer cross threading over threadlocker. Holds better and its less messy. Joking aside, I use the "glue stick" style thread locker and only the blue one. If I need something that holds better than the blue, I usually safety wire it.
