I’m guessing your running out of brain cells to remember where you hid all your stuff ... the guy that buys your place will be able to open a Gun store ...

Bought the wife the 380. She's real recoil sensitive, so 9mm was a no go at this point.

Talked to some fine people in Montana earlier today, getting in the queue for a Shiloh 1874 50-90 Sharps. Big bada boom.

Similar, they are both 1874 Sharps replicas, Shiloh did make the movie rifles , the rifles in the film were 45-110’s I believe with a 34 inch barrel & a patch box.
45-90’s 45-100’s see a lot of action in long range black powder matches.

The one I’m having built is a no frills hunting piece with a 30 inch barrel with a pistol pistol grip stock, 50-90’s have a fair amount of recoil with a good amount of torque, straight stocks are no fun on 50-90’s. They don’t see a lot of target action, not shoulder friendly.

I have a 45-70 1874 Sharps Pedersoli, it’s also a fine example. I’m planning on filling out my collection with a 1885 Winchester High Wall at some point in 45-90. Doubtful any of these will ever see anything but black powder although they can handle modern pressures.

Not sure if this site has been shared as a good site for online ammo ordering or not. However, thought I’d share in case it benefits others.

Went to the range monday, the Bear Creek functioned 0%.... went "click" and didn't allow the charging handle to move and couldn't move from fire to safe. Didn't mess with it much at the range, took it home and after a lot of wiggling got it to work and lubed the shit out of it. Back to the range today, fired off 40-50 rounds with no issues. My lower came with a stock, so until I can get a pistol-legal brace I just ran it with the buffer tube... a bit sketchy trying to hold it next to the cheek to see the red dot, but I managed to avoid smacking my face. That 8.5" barrel with 5.56 makes for a big kaboom and fireball! Next time I'll try it with the .22 bolt.

Ok gun gurus and finders of odd parts. I picked up a used Hatsan Escort 22lr bolt action ( Turkish made CZ 452 knock off) for cheap but it only had one 10 rd poly mag.

I have looked and have not been able to find any as all the usual and unusual suppliers are out of stock. I did find a place in Alberta CN, Cheap Seat Sports, that have them in stock but I'm not sure they wouldn't ship to the US and the cost of shipping and taxes/ duties wouldn't be cheap. They are 39.99 ea for a 10 rd.

Anywho just wanted to see if y'all might know of someone might know a guy who knows a guy that has a US source?

    TIA

Nice to know about BCA, I have a couple of their uppers on budget builds that have yet to be shot. I think a 7.62 and a 223/556.

I hope to get to the point where I have a couple things laying around never shot... at least I got to the range twice this week....
Not ready to say the BCA stuff isn't good...but I'll add that the upper seems HEAVY compared to the PSA stuff

Thoughts on bullpup shotguns vs your more traditional style? I'm guessing the big drawback is the typically higher pricetag?

    Chango Something clever!

My understanding is that box-magazine-fed shotguns tend to be less reliable than tubed. I haven't ever looked into it enough to know why, or even if it is entirely accurate...

Other than that, bullpup shotguns have all the same pros and cons as bullpup rifles.

Ok I have a question. On the bottom of a box of .357 ammo I bought today, it says, “not legal for law enforcement use”. Can someone explain why this warning is there?

Hmmm, they’re just run of the mill hollow points though. Didn’t think those did anything but mushroom out on impact.
