With the given information, some sort of ban is definitely warranted. For the idiot crossing a hot track...permaban. Don't need stupid fuchtards like that anywhere near a racetrack.
But if he were to get banned, who's gonna be providing all them tires to racers?? I never heard about the dude that crossed the track during a race though. What a fuckin idiot! That guy definitely needs to get banned!
Since I don't know any details and do not run a race organization, as the well known voice of reason, The racer who assaulted an official would get a one year ban from racing minimum with the ability to be considered for a license depending on behavior and letter of application. No remorse, no reinstatement. The person who drove across a hot track can get a lifetime ban but can go before the parole board on an annual basis after the second year. I would have no strong reason to really allow either of them back.
No, but to maintain the cutesy vagueness of this thread, I did see a post by somebody who was not Mongo state that assaults on officials will result in a lifetime ban. We did add something to the USCRA rulebook concerning cussing out officials. This was mostly directed to the rider who chronically stalled on the grid and got pissed because I refused to push her bike all the way down to turn 1.
Probably have to sue... (joke for the sarcasm impaired) Reality is that I think a ban is justified. IF the person cooled AND apologized AND the official agreed some lighter penalty. The reasons to respect track officials and workers is so long that anyone that needs examples.....
