Looks cool to me, and could be on a street bike pretty soon.

Wild. I think it was Neil Spaulding that said Honda was going through 3 or 4 a weekend when they first came out with it. Now it’s almost to the street.

 

Looks like a pair of anti-reverse bearings inside a gearbox. So cool.

 

Because motorcycles aren't expensive enough already.......

 

Looks really inexpensive to implement.

Simple and functional. No hydraulics involved , purely mechanical.
Dual clutch performance without all the extra reciprocating mass of a 2nd clutch.

So simple it’s brilliant. Execution won’t be that easy but

looks like the inside if one of my fishing reels well one side of it). Brilliant idea, material selection, finish and tolerancimg should be fun but they have people for that.

 

Game changer. Every manufacturer within 10 years will have this.

 

What’s the over/under on when you have to bring it to the dealer, so they can crack the case for service(s). $$$$.$$

 

I mean it's a Ducati....that's a given.

 

Looking at how it all goes together, it appears that those components, #105, 107 and 109,
will most likely be replaceable with just a clutch removal.

 

As long as it holds together better then the sprag clutch they used in the Testastretta engines!

 

This^ lol. Certainly seems like an awesome piece of tech. And in 10years will hopefully be as ubiquitous as quick shifters.

Cool for the .01 % that will wind up as a racebike.

For the rest, something...something...Harbucks.

 

I must be playing a different game because to me it is added complexity and cost for very little real world benefit other than street riders and club racers feeling cool because their transmission shifts like a MotoGP bike...

 

Game changer? Not really. On the track, a few tenths per lap. What difference will it make for a streetbike? Very little, but an excellent sales tool for gearhead buyers. Servicing this stuff? Job security.

 

Anything that sells more bikes is good for everyone here. People buying boutique bikes and homologation specials love shit like this.

 

I was thinking it'd have more improvements for street riding, since you should be able to shift without fully unloading the transmission.

Just stomp and go.

 

Except this is why bikes should be expensive, because of mechanical brilliance, not because computers and sensors. This is how bikes are supposed to advance in performance.
