In case anyone was wondering, 2020 is, in fact, a motherfucker. Leroy Frye, my father-in-law and a good man passed away yesterday from complications following heart surgery. Raina and Leroy were best pals. Luckily she came along at a time in his life when he had mellowed and was able to open himself in a way he never did with the rest of his loved ones. I got to be the lucky one to tell my daughter. I honestly think I’d rather suffer a 100mph get off at the track than to ever have to do something like that again.
A picture is truly worth a thousand words. So much communion in that image. Terribly sorry for your loss.
TOTALLY SUCKS. I hope you and your daughter can sit around and talk about the good things he did with her now, be a great way to honor him and help her.
RIP, sorry for your loss. Many of us have been there telling a child and it's never easy. Prayers for you and your family.
, prayers to you and your family. I had to break the news to my wife when her Grandfather transitioned and I can agree that it was THE WORST feeling that I have ever had.
Sorry for your loss. Delivering that information to someone is horrible. In 1995 I drove home from MD to ND to visit with my parents for an extended vacation. I got to my parents house in the latter part of the evening and I was tired from two long days of driving, so I planned on sleeping in the next day and Mom went to work. 0800 hours my Granny calls the house, I'm the only one home...I answer and she says, "Yah...Pa had a heart attack last night, he's in Bismarck, you gotta tell your Ma." I was like "F*ck ME Running! I JUST got home." Had to go to her work and tell her...that SUCKED!" Sorry you had to do that.
