Trying to broaden my culinary horizons and looking for ideas on steak seasoning.

    So, what’s everyone’s taste?

    Olive oil base?
    Salt/pepper?
    Paprika?
    Garlic powder?

    Other?

agree with rd49, however I usually put a lite coat of malted butter or olive oil, and then salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Well most of these dudes eat their steak raw whilst they stir the coals with their dick so I'm not sure what you're expecting here.

garlic and fresh thyme add a nice flavor to the steaks if you are doing it in a skillet. in additon to salt and pepper.

any of the steak seasoning are OK. but use them after most of the grilling is done otherwise you just burn the seasoning.

the key is enough salt. and a cut of meat with enough fat marbling unless you are talking about filets...

i agree less is best for a good ribeye.
for burgers on the other hand, my best recipe is garlic granules, onion powder (lightly), salt, pepper and a chopped up nice fatty short rib added to 85% lean.

Not all pepper is created equal.
Not all salt is either (coarse is a must in this application)

    Depends on the steak.
Skirt steak or a flank or other meh cut (good for tacos or just rough cut) usually olive oil (lower burn point) or canola, just enough to help brown. Salt and pepper, Bucks seasoning or Dirt seasoning.
a good cut: unusually salt and pepper or just a few shakes of Bucks.
a really good cut: Salt and pepper.

Burgers? Depends on what I'm feeling at the moment.

I wanna try something I saw on the YouTube. Guy did a deep fried steak. Said it tasted amazing with perfect crisping on the outside, moist inside...

Olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper and then the lightest dusting of ground cinnamon after it's done. Once a year. Otherwise, all that except the cinnamon.
