Do I still need to prep my rotors if I am using the exact same brake pads model as is in the bike now?

I will clean up the pistons and inside but was wondering if I could skip the rotor prep part since they are the same pads and compound.

    Thanks

No need to prep if you are using the same pads.

If you switch pads to a different type/compound or manufacturer then it would be best to prep the rotors.

I always suggest, to get the best performance it is good practice to prep rotors to remove the old brake pad material. I suggest this even if you are using the same compound.

Brake rotors may have also gotten some other contamination on the surface and prepping the rotors will also help remove other contamination on the rotor surface.

    YMMV
