    Hey gents,

It's been a long time since I followed tires for the track let alone for the street, a friend is asking for my advice and I don't want to let him down so any street going riders in here who can help me out with recommending some good all around street tires???

    Bike #1 is a '02 Superhawk and #2 is a '04 CBR600.

I'm thinking Q2 but not sure how those do in the rain!?!?!?

    Thanks!

I just picked up a set of the new Dunlop Q3's for the 1000. Apparently they are good in the wet and the dry.

Dunlop Q2/Q3 and Bridgestone 003 R/S are all pretty similar, very grippy street tires, expect to get about 3000 miles for the rear tire, decent capability on the track. Personally for the street I prefer the Bridgestone S20's, I can get about 6000-8000 miles for the rear tire, and wet grip is pretty nice dry grip is OK not as grippy as the Q2/Q3/003.

Rosso Corsa 3 is very grippy and gets fairly decent street mileage. It's a giveaway. The more traction....

On my second pair of Pilot Road 3s. GREAT all around tire with good grip wet or dry and (relatively) good tread wear.

I have seen guys on 1000cc bikes on road 3, going realy fast in the street.

another good tire and cheap is the bt 023.

for the guys on a budget this is a great tire.

Can't go wrong with any of the top brands. Go for a sport touring type tire as well as they are more than enough grip than you will need. I got 9000 + miles out of a Pilot Road 2 last time on a CBR 1000.

I'm running a Pilot Road 2 on the rear and a Power 2 on the front of my street only ZX 10. Love it, all the front traction you need for trail braking and the rear has plenty of traction and takes MUCH longer to square off from all the straight line miles I get in Illinois. When we go to the MO/Arkansas twisters I have all the traction you'll ever need at 9/10ths street pace. Wet traction is fine.

Love this combo. Hate when the handling gets dull from squaring off the rear. Takes much longer with the ST rear on the 10.
