As quite a few of us have weaponry of one sort or another, I thought it might be cool to see what's out there in our community. If it's legal and you're not overly concerned about anyone knockin' your doors down, post 'em up! Pics and amplifying data only...like, what it is, are you any good with it, is it any good, etc. Your call on the included data. No political statements that'll land us in the Dungeon. Try to make the pic interesting... A bolt-action on the dining table is boring. Laying your collection across the bed covers, equally so. Chainsaws, bats, hammers and axes? Only if they're predominately martial in purpose. Whips are OK. I'll start with an oldie but goodie...once I find a setting for it.
Burnside Model 1864 .54 Caliber Carbine. Progressive rifling, first black powder cartridge rifle. About $2K, unrestored. Handed down by my grandfather when I was about 10. I had lost it for about 30 years. I'd like to restore it to firing condition but I'm not so sure the barrel innards can be cleaned up well enough. Is reported to have been very accurate.
What the hell...took some pics the other day for insurance purposes. Many of these were handed down to me from my dad. Ruger .357 SP101 spurless hammer, 2.25" barrel and Hogue monogrip Marlin .22lr Savage .270 bolt action rifle (fiances) Looking to get her a Smith or Ruger .38 in the very near future. When I got "bad" I had a beautiful Ruger .357 Security Six 4" barrel(full frame), one of those cheap Romanian AK-47s, Mossberg 12 gauge 18.5" barrel collapsible AR style stock, heatshield, shell holder on the stock(looked very *scary* ) and a Ruger LCR .38 along with the others. I want to grab a semi-auto 9 or 40 sooner than later, maybe another hi-mag rifle.
Thank you sir. They will pass on to my son and daughter. We shoot them all. The Erma does jam pretty bad.
How do you lose a rifle for 30 years and then get it back? I have an old Winchester 1906 .22 cal that is the same, I would like to restore it but I'm scare of damaging the bore. David
