I had no idea it was Karl when I saw him out there in practice....didnt know he got airlifted till late that night. He's a great guy. I hope to hear continued progress.
Things here at UAB are progressing well. They are backing off the sleepy meds and ventilation and Karls responses are keeping the neuro doc happy (and us). Hopefully Karl's sister makes it here tonight, Sandy isnt helping at all. We relieved Catt last night so she and Dewayne are back in Nashville. Dealing with some pneumonia issues(common in these type situations) so keep your fingers crossed, Karl is kickin ass so far.
Thanks for the update Stephen! I'm praying for you Karl, hope you get healed up and out of the hospital asap!
OK bro, time to join me in the land of the awake. I'll let you on to a good hosp trick: if some dude stops in that you don't wanna converse with, play the nappy game! Seriously to those of you keeping watch, I was out longer and l know that our man will be with us real soon!!!
My wife (Catt) was at the hospital until last night. Jan and Stephen took over last night and are there with him. From her report: "Sunday night he recognized me when they woke him up. They brought him out of sedation for a bit last night. Stephen, says he was very aware of things around 2 am, then they returned him to a sedated state so he can rest. Progress is good, he is healing and responsive, he moves hands and feet on command."
I hope everyone involved is healing up and gettting better. That whole thing was pretty scary. Here's a video of the practice session, with me getting to the turn about the 4:05 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WKK0R6DGpI
