Admitedly...at times. But, I'm always willing to listen to other stuff. How about Kenny Wayne Shephards "Ledbetter heights"
Duane Allman on Boz Scaggs Loan me a Dime SRV - Riveria Paradise Jimi / SRV - Little Wing Jimi - Red House (already listed but is just that good) BB King live stuff - His tremolo speaks volumes without a bunch of flashiness
Oh gawd, most of this crap was on oldies radio 20 years ago and I hated it then. There's a few good songs listed but most of it is one step away from blasting out all mono in an elevator. CRAP!
Marty Friedman (Megadeth) - Almost Honest Gilby Clark (Kill for Thrills) - Ghost and Monsters Mick Mars (Motley Crue) - Saint of Los Angeles Gary Hoey - Wipe Out / Linus and Lucy
The first three solos that came to my mind are below, but I love guitar solos in general Pantera - Drag The waters (Dimebag Darrell was the man on the guitar) Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath (Flute solos FTW!!! hahaha, does this count? Seriously though, I love this song.) Metallica - Master of Puppets (I love how melodic this one is, but Metallica solos are usually pretty good)
Like a Lay's tater chip... can't have just one. Here's some that instantly pop into my mind: Duane Allman- Elizabeth Reed Mark Knopfler- Sultans of Swing David Gilmour- Time Jimi Hendrix- Little Wing Oh, and just about any pedal steel solo by Robert Randolph will make me get up and do the hippie dance.
Anything Jimi. Bold as love, Little Wing, Red House, Hey Baby, etc... Lots of Zeppelin. Jimmy Paige may not be the smoothest guitar play ever, but I can't not whip out the air guitar when he's wailing on "Since I've been loving you" or "the Ocean". Pink Floyd. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" if I have to pick only one. The Duo-tones "Walk, Don't Run" I love BB too, but I don't consider him to be a great soloist. He uses a lot of the same tricks and progressions over and over. John Mayer "Gravity" (skip to 6:00 in the live version if you can't take all the crooning lol ) Clapton "Sinner's Prayer" Yea, I listen to a lot of blues... Most of it older than I am.
