http://www.google.com/search?q=texas+prison+lunch Apparently feeding these guys lunch on the weekends is just too costly. While I understand that prison isn't supposed to be an enjoyable experience, it should still at least be humane. I'm betting this decision gets quietly reversed pretty soon.
Skipping a few meals does not qualify as inhumane. I can't remember the last time I ate 3 meals in a day.
Well, what do you expect? Gotta pay for those undocumented peeps college tuitions somehow!!! Cheers, Lee S.
The city jail I frequently make deposits at, they serve ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch and cheese and ham sandwiches for dinner. The ham is sooo good they decided to not include condiments.
On Monday we had bread and gravy, On Tuesday 'twas gravy and bread, On Wednesday and Thursday 'Twas gravy on toast - that was was nothing but gravy and bread On Friday I spoke to the landlord, "Would you please give us something instead?" On Saturday morning by way of a change We had gravy without any bread.
We do it in the Marine Corps. If you have a meal card, on weekends there is only mid morning meal and dinner. Probably the same deal. Where is it that if you are in prison you don't eat unless your family feeds you? I like that idea.
Why do you think it's inhumane? I only eat two meals a day and have for many years. In fact, I sometimes eat only one meal per day when I don't have time to stop to eat. I'm still alive, well, and quite handsome. (Some people will argue about that handsome part.)
As long as saltpeter levels don't drop feed them twice everyday. The line between deterrent to crime and humane should be thinner.
Boo Hoo! If they want lunch on weekends they can go back home to mommy. . . that is if they hadn't killed her.
Fuck 'em! I think they should just not be fed. Just turn them all loose with sporks and let them eat each other. Put it on pay-per-view. Tell them that the last guy left gets out (but shoot him in the head instead)
Damn.... you f@ckers is HARSH! I'm all for making prison punitive.... and I'm not suggesting 5-star catered filet mignon and foie gras.... but I still think 3 hots and a cot is standard basic human needs. All of you saying you skip lunch most days, I'd bet that if you're honest with yourself you'd see that you were making up for that skipped meal elsewhere, an option these guys don't have. I'd be interested to see what complications any prison guards on the beeb think think this would add to their daily lives. I know there's a couple around here. But then again, they did choose to be there. Both the guards and the cons. Yeah, you're right. Don't feed 'em at all, that'd be much cheaper. Then the unemployed prison guards can go to work for the TSA.
Really I was in federal prison once and would skip meals cause they were not that good green bologna sandwiches not very appealing !!!!!!!!!
