Holiday Inn Corp and Hampton inn own land on the other side of nashville super speedway.

I agree that they will not tear it down. Dover is just looking to unload a unprofitable business . Someone will buy it cheap . Some BIG wheels in rutherford county are already getting their ducks in a row .

We really liked it, the track, the paddock, the layout, everything. Couldn't make it last time we raced there because of money, but I would definitely be in now. I like it better than Roebling, Nashville and JGP.

Anyone know the skinny on Gateway? Dover sold it last year too if I am not mistaken....

Bruton had to give up a race at one of his other tracks to get the one at Kentucky.

He probably wished he hadn't after the grand fiasco that Kentucky turned into.

I don't know how far around the country the news travelled, but people that left Louisville at 1pm (a 50 minute drive) for the 8pm race did not get in. It turned into the biggest traffic jam in the states history. I talked to people that went and they said that cars were pulling into the medium and parking.....and then walking 10-20 miles to the track.

We can handle 150,000+ for the Derby, just don't come here to see a car race.

What are the evaluation changes like at CMP?
I can't seem to find a map that shows it.

I think your getting the France family confused with Bruton Smith.

These are the tracks that the France family own.

Smith can only move races with the consent of the France family. The Frances dictate not only what races will be run at their tracks, but Brutons as well

I really like Nashville. The free cable was cool to check out the AMA races at night. Gonna miss that place. I like CMP also. I think there would be more turn out if it was the only race that month. It seems like most people avoid it (the few I talk to) when it's close to another race weekend. If CMP had that 3 week buffer, (and maybe 2 in the back) it would encourage more turnout (since we are having withdrawals by then).

Mongo, any word on AMP or Nola for 2012? (just asking).

AMP would have probably been added regardless of the NSS deal.

I hadn't been racing since the very early days of "grunge" music. Nashville was the first one I could make this season and I am impressed by the facilities. I don't mind the 4-5 hour drive (much nicer and shorter trip than JGP).

With the temps this summer, I would easily pass on making a trip to CMP just as it sounds others have.

Hope they work something out with the sale and WERA returns in 2012 - count me in.

You guys are delusional if you really think AMP will be viable for racing if they're even allowed to race. If it is viable then I'll definitely look at it of course but I just don't see it happening. NOLA needs pavement but I'm always in touch with Alan to one extent or another.

CMP has improved a good amount. The new section of track in the T12,T13,T14 area is a vast improvement and makes the track flow much better. All pit roads are now paved which is nice and they have garage space for rent which is worth every penny. I swear it feels 15 degrees cooler in the garage area. CMP used to be fairly low on my list of favorite tracks but it is now in my top 3.

Okay - anyone calling the track, the September date and anything else scheduled through October 30th WILL HAPPEN. Our event is happening for sure.
