what are you guys running for sag #'s for an 06 1000.....

I seem to need to re do my springs and such, as i went with kit linkage, which is more linear, seems my 1.0 spring is now to soft.

I believe for track your ment to have 25/30mm rear sag, im stuck at 50mm with my pre load maxed out.

So what spring rate should i be running for the rear? im not to sure how to calculate what # i need

    Thanks in advance

I have Penske with a 500 spring and AK-20's with .95 and 1.0 springs. I'm right on the money w/ front at 40mm, rear is 30mm with 10mm free sag......I'm about 175-180 w/o gear. Shock is also shimmed 6mm and forks flushed.

im running an ohlins 3 way, running a 1.0 spring, which was right for me, and had proper setup before, but after switching to kit linkage, its all off....

so is there a way to remove the spring, and tighten the collar up top? as it shows i have plenty of thread.... i know i have to back off the pre load, but i think i need a spring compressor to take it off..

Check with Yosh. I think you have to go up in rate...Smashing down the reload adjuster is not the answer..You dont want more then 10 mm of preload anyway.

so after talking to a few ppl, i believe i need a 11.5 for a rear spring, but does anyone know what that equals in spring rate or lbs/nm

im having issues trying to find this out

    Thanks

    You basically multiply by 55.88
    Get the spring that's closest.
    Springs come in 25lbs increments.
    600 ,625, 650lbs etc.
If I remember correctly 25lbs equals 1/2 rate and 50lbs is a full rate.
Now if someone could tell me how many rates you can go up or down before
you need to revalve a penske for example.
I think the linkage ratio is a factor here as well, I believe that the above statement
is correct for a GSXR ,but not for some other bikes.

    11.5k = 643 lb/in

55.997 is the # to go by, based on ohlins tech they said
