Menace II society, Requiem, Se7en Menace take my number one vote because I grew up in the hood and had to deal with pretty much everything that movie portrays first hand. Watching it was so emotionally draining. One of my top 5's for sure
in the fiction genre, "A Serbian Film." A friend of mine convinced me to watch it. He wouldn't let me watch the trailer beforehand, or I wouldn't have been so cooperative. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1273235/
They never say why in the book. Its either gotta be nuclear war or some type of asteroid I think. Only in the first chapter or so the husband and wife say the hear the thumping in the distance and see the bright lights. Between the road, book of eli and now this alas babylon I'm reading now has me really thinking of bomb shelters -or at the very least a good storage of food wand water supplies Just what does dark mean anyway? I assume disturbing - not just scary. I would add donnie darko to the list and then what the hell was that movie where the 4 men robbed a bank. Most of the entire movie is afterwards in a room where they are hiding out. They were setup..... and the one guy cuts the ear off the other guy. That shit disturbed me for a good long while afterwards. Oh yeah the movie IT from stephen king freaked me out a bit- till the end at least. Damn clowns! The exorcist
I would have to agree with "The Road" as well. It was so very "real" in what could happen. Man, that was just disturbing!
Oh yeah, and my choices of INSIDE or MARTYRS is for scare factor. Dogtooth wins out on disturbing and weird: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogtooth_(film)
One of the latest Harry Potter movies. They must have filmed that whole thing in a foggy cave with busted lights, I kept turning the brightness on the tv up but it didn't really help and...what? Oh...
no doubt! i actually jumped outta my chair and squeeled when she cut her clitoris off and my mind was blown when she jerked him off after crushing his sack.
Harsh Times, Christian Bale was in it. Just...mean. "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer always stuck with me. Edit: Fallen. No winners in that one.
That was mine and Colleens first date. She always says "I should have known!" Wonder what thats about?
I watched "There Will Be Blood" and "The Human Centipede" last week (thanks Netflix). Talk about a wacked out couple of movies. Centipede was just downright disturbing. I hear they are in production of part 2. There will be no diapers to cover up the operation.
