depends- are you employed by, hired by or in in any way affiliated with - D.O.T. ? E.P.A.? any "Special Agent" status? well.. o.k. then... lets get started.
Yeah, my joking tone on the 'all you need to do is ship it over' was probably a bit lost in translation too.
There is a KR250 Tandem down in Florida for sale , its been listed on Craigslist on and off.(Off now)Not the green one.
a frame constitutes a "motorcycle" all else is-"parts" if it was easy the streets would be filled with NSR's VFR's and all the rest...
your old bike is not in Florida anymore, the one I've seen for sale is not your old bike, its black and silver.

Mmmkay, let's muddy the water - there's a local Import car shop here that gets a shipping container full of Japanese domestic market (JDM) engines several times a year, how do they do it??? None of this stuff is EPA legal... Maybe they could sneak in a TZR for me.....
A friend of mine used to import mini-trucks and mini-excavators. I asked about getting a Japanese market bike into a container, and he told me that all that you need to do is have it loaded into the container and have it listed on the manifest. It would be for closed course only, but then just pay import duties and you have it. I'll ask him again if the process has changed recently, because it's an interesting proposition. Making it street legal is an entirely different kettle of fish.
what price? but yeah-it is"that" simple. assuming you have a contact in Jn that works for free...:tut: remember though- the vins are recorded within the DOT and you must sign a document stating that you will NEVER try to registerTHAT vin... it.if it were easy the streets would be covered with 250/400's anyone with deep pockets feel free to pm me. i have a friend with a few...
I spoke with the EPA yesterday. If a bike is coming from Canada (and has been registered there) to the US, and is 21 years old or older, then the bike is excluded from any EPA requirements. The age of the bike is verified at the border from the ownership, and VIN.
.. and no issues with street orientation?or did you get that far into the conversation? if anyone is interested. i have a friend who has a few bikes for sale: NC30,NC35,3XV/TZR 250's NSR/MC28. all in what i'd call exceptional condition but pricy.
