Yeah, but wasn't there some controversy about the fire fighting SOP and the deck crashing into the water, then that valve failed, I mean it was just one catastrophe after another...
There is this thing they do before the oil and gas start coming out of a well, to actually get to the oil. It's a process that takes a good bit of time, called drilling.
I think discovery channel should have some programs about oil rig safety. I wonder how I can go about making that suggestion.
I saw something about their office in Silver Spring, Maryland...Maybe drop by the lobby, bring your manifesto...How do you feel about kids?
This just came through on my screen. 2:21 PM A mile-long oil sheen is now visible where a Mariner Energy (ME -2.1%) offshore platform exploded and burned off Louisiana, the Coast Guard says.
I've heard of them. They meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.
They're not sure if the oil just came from the rig itself, not the well... Coast Guard officials said it was not immediately clear whether the oil came from fuel aboard the platform or from an undersea leak. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/02/AR2010090202733.html?hpid=topnews
