Racer's average crash rate?

Just out of curiousity, what's your crash rate?

 

Less than once a year...when at all poosible.

Less than once a year, is that like a .5 crash where you scrape bodywork but don't go all the way down?? or "dude, I almost crashed"

 

The question should be how many have crashed 2 times or more in one day.

 

I talked to him a couple weeks ago, he still has a little way to go before he's back. Haha, Garrett is another one, was that 2 or 3 crashes he had at VIR last September?

 

This is a f@#$king joke, right?

 

Sad to say but at Grattan earlier this year I was a 2x in one day guy. At least it was different corners!

I look at miles between crashes. I had a guy on my team once who averaged one crash every 200 on-track miles, when the other guys on the team at the time crashed on average once every 1400 on-track miles. Another team had a guy set a record (as far as I know) at about 50 on-track miles between crashes. That may be an AMA Pro record.

 

Aren't the AMA races more than 50 miles?

 

Usually right at 50 miles. At the time the guy set his record of averaging a crash every 50 on-track miles, the races were usually about 60 miles. The guy usually crashed 3-6 times per race weekend.

 

Been a few years ago, but I knew a guy that went out for first practice, went into turn 1 and crashed. Picked it up, went into turn 2 and crashed again. His day was done then.
His excuse was "but it was raining"

 

4 years...1 crash.
