I need to figure out what I am doing next year and want to go real fast. What color power band will give me the best results?

Go for the red one. Better top end power! :D

It's not so much the powerband but the red limiter you have to tune.

I once put a "Power Band $5" (large rubber band) behind the parts counter. ;)

regardless of what color powerband you use or where you set the red limited, if you're muffler bearings are shot, you gain nothing. also mark sure you have fresh blinker fluid as well.

Don't forget to reprogram the Raffelator.

I prefer the Wellington Model 60.

    It doesn't matter

Just get a powerband with the proper shape. If it is not the right shape, you won't be able to corner real low.

But salmon sounds better thus adding to the power band

I have a box of HRC powerbands for the pre big bang YZR500 motor in the basement I might sell. I'll see which ones I have (I think there's a low end and a few top end screamer bands). I think I have a methanol monster replica one also but that one I keep in a cage since it doesn't play nice with others. It's illegal in 48 states to possess or sell that one.

How often do you change the oil in your power band? Mongo? Chip? Huey?

An upgrade to your powerband won't do a thing unless you get Italian Cams.

If your bike is carburated you should look into a power commander for the ultimate in performance upgrades.

The magenta is easily the best. It is the most reliable by far. I know people will try to tell you that the pink has the better top end and salmon has good mid-range boost (like 30%) but they are both known for premature failure, and the last thing you want is a busted powerband. Magenta all the way.
