I happened on this personal trainer that can have you doing solo 20's without running out of gas and ready to sprint Sunday. All you need is a 10lb dumbell and a rubber exercise ball to sit on. He started me out on 9 different moves.
I am using every muscle that I need on the bike. This is a routine you can do easily anytime. It does not involve bikes or running. You can knock it out in 30-45 min. Seriously, if you want to lower your lap times, this guy can help you. When you call him, just tell him that you are a roadracer and he will ask some questions then email or fax a plan for you. He does have a gym but it is by appointment only. We buy the best parts, tires, ect. money can buy but most of us neglect the most important piece. Our body.

I'm a runner/triathlete, so I think I'm reasonably fit - my s.o. started doing Crossfit in Atlanta and took me there a few times, and let me tell you, it kicks your ass! I'm doing it here now, twice a week, and seeing some improvement, but I'll never match her in the gym (but I'm still faster than her outside it :)).

If you can handle the load, it's a great workout for a racer, as it improves strength and aerobic capacity as well.

    Cheers

Check out Gravity Training classess too.

I know of a certain sports med DC in east central WI that works with putting back AMA racers together that also has a racer specific training program. ;)

Look for crossfit affiliates here, but you don't need to go to a crossfit gym to do crossfit you'll just have to substitute some exercises based on equipment availability. My local affiliate is expensive so I'm sticking with my current gym.

The nice thing about crossfit for me, is the workouts or so varied that I don't get a chance to dread doing them. You may not repeat that exact workout for 6 months. Every workout I think "that's not too bad" and at the end of it I can barely walk out of the gym and yet this cycle repeats.

16lbs of muscle in a little under 4 months. That's why I love Crossfit. :D

I go to an affiliate simply because I'm too lazy to do it on my own. It costs more than a globogym but hey, it's like having your own personal trainer each session.

I'm not professing it to be the end-all for personal fitness but it is certainly well suited to roadracing preparation and just about anything else you will do in life.

I had to gain weight because I was morbidly skinny. :D

My weight gain has been a product of Crossfit + massive diet change. I'll change it again once I hit the 195 - 200 range.

So I am a rider and love the sport. I have an MS in Nutrition & Exercise Science. I am a certified athletic trainer and am a certified performance enhancement specialist...

That all being said could I make money providing a service like this?

    Not like Crossfit

This guy will not add weight and bulk you up. He knows what you need to hang off with your knee holding you on the stompgrip and moving to the other side quick and often. He doesn't waste my time working on muscle I don't use on the bike. You will be able to call him anytime, day or night. If you are sore in certain spots after a solo 20, call him and tell him what is going on. This guy really defines Personal Trainer and his price for a continous program is very cheap. 260-471-2348 Jason
