It comes out today, just curious to know people's opinion. Please don't spoil it, as I plan to see it this weekend. I just wanted to some overall good or bad ratings.

Based on the preliminary reviews from a couple of non-dorky, reliable movie websites it appears to be a complete trainwreck.

Oh, the dorky ones think it sucks too.

So far that's what I am hearing - terrible. But a good portion was shot in the adjacent farm to me so I have to go see it anyway.

That's interesting. I do alot of riding around upper Bucks between Newtown and Van Sant airport and I remember when they were filming a couple of scenes from "Signs" around there. I know he's from Philly, but I guess Shamalamadingdong is also a big fan of that area.

On the Jersey side at the the church in Mount Airy (East Amwell) is where they filmed the final scene of "I am legend", about eight miles from me.

Yeah, they filmed a scene at a diner down the street from my house. M. Night still lives in Conshahoken. I'll probably end up seeing it when it goes to DVD.

I live in Unionville and they shot for about three weeks here. Literally in the field across the street. The rigging they had set up was pretty cool. I bet some of the grips would make excellent race/endurance mechanics/pit bitches ;)

They shot the jeep crashing into the tree in Wynnewood area, right across from my wife's best friend's house. MNS now has a big spread in Radnor near the Hunt club, nice area to ride the motorcycle early in the AM before all the mommy-SUVs and other idiots clog the roads. Even better to ride Providence Rd to 926 to 100 into DE and loop back up 52... smokin' on the RZ350 of course!

oh yeah - guess I'll pass on seeing the movie till it's on cable, just like the Lady in the Water lame-o... still love "I see dead people" movie - that one still gives me the creeps!

it sucked. it seems lately that directors are choosing to alienate the audience from the characters by making them look as retarded and unrealistic as possible (ex: Strangers, and now "the happening").
i dunno if they're trying to make some kind of social criticism that people are silly and trivial in the face of greater problems, but it RUINS the movie.
    that crap needs to stop.

if "the happening" was done by the guy that did 28days later--ultra realism for a sci-fi/paranormal movie--then it would absolute rock.
as it stands, the goofy, 'silly' nature of the characters ruins it.
it's a rental. i should've gone to see The Incredible Hulk instead.

m.night shyamalan's movies have really gone downhill.

ripping off the "person standing dead still in a strange, unnatural context" that was so cleverly and terrifingly first deployed in The Ring---for shame m. night shammadingdong...pFFFTY!
the only 'original' thing about the movie was the depiction of mass suicides that no other director would touch w/ a 10ft pole. and the chick that plays mark walberd's estranged wife...PUHLEASE. it's a total cop-out to paint your character as having trouble expressing her emotions...when everyone can plainly see its a cover-up for hiring a sorry excuse for an actress. i've seen better acting in pornos.

I saw it last night. It sucked. Mark Wahlbergs character seemed really off the wall at some points. The only redeeming quality was the mass suicides were shocking.

Yeah seemed from the trailer to be a couple hours worth of "faces of death" of people offing them selves. No thank you.
Interesting take on the characters. Reminds me of "The mist". I really hate Stephen King's stories because even in the most terrible of situations, he always makes the people involved thier own worst enemy.

I saw it last night and it was actually more funny than scary for me. I love the part where they go to the crazy lady's house. I've always liked Mark Walhlberg. He makes me laugh in this movie. Not worth it though, wait until it comes out on DVD or watch a bootleg (if you're into ripping off poor movie stars and directors!).

The writers are just being good citizens and recycling their material, nothing new.

I went last night. I walked out after 45 minutes. it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I did enjoy the gratuitous Philly references, bt aside from the opening credits, the entire movie didn't just insult my intelligence, it raped it. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB.

just saw it, should have checked out the forum first, dont waste your money, the happening wasnt happening, and why does liberal hollywood have to have some green message in a movie anyway? while leaving the theater i walked by the ironman now playing poster, and said shit, i know what i should have seen......

Don and I saw it when it came out. Thought it would be good just because so many people didn't like. The idea of the film is good, but the movie basically stunk.
