Ah. Maybe they made a mistake. Although, I have not studied that part of the rulebook but I thought everything had to be homologated in all classes.
exhaust We had the same issue in tech but as soon as it was said to us about the exhaust Tom got on the phone with Triumph and they in turn called AMA. It is not an issue for FX and SB. Homoligations are in effect for Supersport and Superstock only!! So along with all this Narbonne's bike was there as well and AMA also gave them shit about the exhaust and he backed up our story. While there someone AMA came over and told the tech guys that we were CORRECT!!!
That would have helped that R6 that caught fire at LVMS. Still scratching my head as to why he just walked back to the pits right after he crashed and it caught fire.
I think you may be right, looking at the pics that is exactly what the caption should be of him walking off with the bike burning. "Oh damnit, it happened again, no one loves me, even my bike"
that's amazing that AMA would have someone working tech that doesn't even know the most basic homologation rules. But they definitely make sure your AMA Pro sticker is put in the right place.
